What are the ways that I can help? I don’t stay in Delhi but if there is something I can do to help, I would like to.
Ps. It will be my first Proto.in. I wanted to attend the one just concluded but due to work pressures, I could not commit myself so stayed away

Oh boy! That’s quite a bit of responses. We need to start with a list of potential venues for this.
Requirements:
a) Needs to have a hall that can accommodate 500 people
b) Needs to have two parallel halls that can accomodate 150 people
c) Enough space for Networking and good ambience
d) Relatively close to the heart of the city and allow for easy commutation.
e) Hopefully shouldnt cost an arm and a leg

Any requirement of Wifi or such on the location ?? Or can it just be a plain conference hall without the frills ?

Been in Delhi for abt 25yrs of my life, but last few (& currently) in B’lore. Few suggestions abt places:
General –
*) Hotels would most certainly cost an arm and a leg. I’d suggest that they be kept as last option. Try for Convention centres. There are a couple of Govt. and semi-govt. convention centres for sure.
1) India Habitat Centre.
2) JNU Campus (I think it has a big audi, and few smaller ones as well)
3) IIT-D / NIT Campus
However, barring the 1st option, none would have a great ambience. India Habitat Centre OTOH, may not have a 500 seater hall though… someone needs to check out.
If folks know some event organizers, get in touch with them, and get the venue lists. I will try to get in touch with few old friends and get some.

One suggestion though… try to keep the venue somewhere in South Delhi, Central Delhi. There is a reason. Those two locations, (especially South Delhi — inspite of being “South”) is more central to many areas that are densly populated with possible Entrepreneurs. E.g. South-delhi is well connected to Gurgaon via Ring-Road, Outer-Ring-Road. South-Delhi is well connected to NOIDA, via Outer-Ring-Road, Greater Noida ExpWy TW, Noida TB etc.
But if it’s Central Delhi, the Metro network (which is limited currently in it’s reach) would be a good enabler.
Another thing would be to identify moderately priced accomodation in the vicinity for out of station attendees.
my 2 cents.

Hi vijay,
Hi Vijay i am back in Delhi.
Delhi has lots of govt halls
that should work well
from The budget,and facilities Point.
I will be very happy if i could pull some strings in Human resources ministry to get a free halls.
(all you may have to bring them in as Event partners)
one i know is CSIR hall with stay facility,(i have attended an IPR session there)
other is an army’s premise.(i have attended few mentor connect meets there)
Mean while can you send me one pager event profile for me to talk to HR Ministry.
if interested i can check with both for JUL 18th and 19th
